Easter Shenanigans

Easter was awesome this year.  The weather could not have been more perfect all weekend.

It was a three day weekend for me and the kiddos so we painted our Easter eggs on Friday.  This is one of my favorite family traditions.  Sorry Ada, we did this during your nap time this year. :)

Saturday we spent all day doing yard work and soaking up the sun.  And getting DIRTY...digging in the "construction site" in our backyard is their new favorite thing to do.  Everyone was in desperate need of a bath at the end of the day to get ready for Easter.

Sunday morning two little boys came running into our room bright and early informing us that it was Easter!  We woke up little sister and went down to find our baskets and eggs that the Easter bunny hid.  No pictures...I was too busy just enjoying their happy faces.  Then some of us relaxed inside for a little bit while some of us went right to work outside again.
Relaxing (seriously these two have the sweetest relationship right now)

Working
The kids ended up covered in dirt again with the mix of that bucket of soapy water and their construction site back there.  So we washcloth bathed, got dressed in our Easter best and got ready to head to the Jacobi's for lunch.

This clean state didn't last long...

Just sayin...you know good weather has returned when you go from being able to skip baths multiple nights to having to take multiple baths in one day. :)  I'm not complaining at all.  It was great spending time at the Jacobi pond and soaking up some more sun.

Next it was off to the King's for dinner and an Easter egg hunt in the backyard...and yes, more sunshine.

Seriously. Awesome. Weekend.  I hope all of you had a wonderful Easter.

Now to the little baby girl who seems a little too comfortable in my belly, I appreciate you waiting for us to get through Easter to be born, but we are waiting to meet you now!  Ever so patiently.  :)  You win the contest for staying in mom's belly the longest after today...so you can come out now.

Great pictures! I agree, great weekend with more baths needed in the span of three days than we had to do during all six months of winter.

PS - why are the boys wearing blue jeans at Stevi's but khakis at my place? ;)
